6 Week Sculptural Hand Building Pottery Course with Pamela Chaves.
This course is designed for complete beginners and returning students and will focus on building larger sculptural vessels and anthropomorphic masks with a range of different handbuilding techniques.
Pamela Chaves (@elemento.ceramics) shares her knowledge in the traditional handbuilding and sculptural techniques of pre-Columbian Argentinian ceramics.
Class sizes are limited to 12 students to ensure plenty of one-on-one instruction.

- Thursday August 27th, 6pm - 9pm
- Thursday September 3rd, 6pm - 9pm
- Thursday September 10th, 6pm - 9pm
- Thursday September 17th, 6pm - 9pm
- Thursday September 24th, 6pm - 9pm
- Thursday October 1st, 6pm - 9pm
Course Structure:
- Weeks 1–5: Learn and practice a variety of hand building and surface decoration techniques, including pinching, coiling, slab building, burnishing and carving techniques.
- Week 6: Guided glazing session to finish your pieces.
What’s Included:
- 6 x three-hour pottery classes
- 1 x 10kg bag of Feeneys FFB clay
- Use of all equipment and tools (bring your own if preferred)
- All glazes and firings
- Light refreshments each week
Additional Info:
- Closed-toe footwear is required at all times.
- If you miss a class, make-up sessions are not guaranteed.
